Using prairie and parkland native trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials to create naturalized areas is a growing trend. From plugs and small pots, to field-basketed trees, Lakeshore Tree Farms cultivates many lines of native species.
Naturalized areas, are becoming part of the standard features of many parks and urban buffers. In response, we at Lakeshore Tree Farms have educated ourselves to identify sources of these native species in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and have excellent capacity to produce these plants for the purposes of naturalization.
Lakeshore Tree Farms grows just about every common woody species native to the Canadian prairie and parkland region. Storm ponds, creek bank restoration, freeway banks, and borrow pits are examples of projects we have supplied with bareroot, plugs, and 1 gallon to 10 gallon pots. We are also capable of producing native forbes and grasses for specific projects on a contract basis.
